While I naturally gravitate to more feminine pieces, I've been enjoying the boyfriend trend all summer (okay, I've actually been enjoying it since January), and I finally found the perfect boyfriend shirt from Maison Scotch. The boyfriend shirt is amazingly versatile, and oh so comfy. The loose structure is perfect to balance fitted pieces like this skirt, and yet also manages to pair beautifully with similarly loose bottoms such as the boyfriend shorts here. Since I feel like boyfriend shorts or jeans tend to hang low on my hips, I always prefer to pair them with heels (these lace-up sandals from Aldo are a favourite of mine) to help balance everything out, and add back a bit of femininity to the outfit.
The most important thing about the boyfriend trend (and the hardest to get right) is to make sure it doesn't appear too bulky and wide, thus overpowering your frame.
