Coral Ambition

Finally a sunny day to wear this Urban Outfitters romper. I bought this when rompers first started appearing in stores a few years ago. Let me tell you, it was quite the hunt to find the perfect first timer playsuit!

Tie a shirt into a bow to breakup a one-piece.

Loving the lace-up sandal trend this year. I was super excited to find this Aldo pair on sale for $35. Can't beat the price for real suede! 

I love the eyelet details on this playsuit. Or jumpsuit. Or romper. Whatever you want to call them. (Anyone have a preference?) As usual, it's the lace details that led me to this particular romper back in 2010. I originally wanted to pair it with clogs and socks, a la Chanel's spring 2010 show, but never ended up buying the clogs. Instead, I pair it with all sorts of sandals and peep-toe shoes for a summery look.

To break up the coral, I tied a white chiffon shirt around my waist. This serves two purposes – as a cover up if it get's cooler in the evening, and as a cute little bow detail. Did anyone else watch the Yves Saint Laurent biopic where he ties a ribbon into a bow around a black column dress? This helps to break up the solid colour, adding emphasis to the waist. I used the same concept here to help add a cute detail and bring more of a casual or beachy feel. Finally, a large statement straw hat completes the look and protects my face from any sun damage.
