Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a lovely week, and sorry about the bad pun.
I picked up this layered necklace at Love Culture while I was in Memphis a few weeks ago. I adore layering my necklaces, and this just makes life ten times simpler. If I want something elegant, I wear this one necklace alone. For casual days, I like to pair it with a longer necklace, like this long Y-necklace.
Whoops, my t-shirt fell out. Does anyone else have a problem with hip/waist sizes on higher waisted clothes? I find high waisted pencil skirts and shorts that fit my hips are always super baggy in the waist. Even when it's the smaller size available. Case in point: this Zara skirt is an XS, but needs to be taken in a good two inches to fit my waist.
I actually adore this pairing of fitted skirt and casual tee. I bought this skirt from Zara last year immediately after seeing it in stores. I loved the cut, I mean, how cute are these slightly asymmetrical frills on the bottom (and well all know I love asymmetry)?
Too bad I never wore it until now. It has legit, been sitting in my closet for half a year. Why? Because I bought it with a specific top to wear, and the entire ensemble was too business-like for my regular classes. And I got stuck in a rut, just imagining wearing this skirt with that particular blouse.
Well good news is, I finally had a chance to do just that, and ever since, I've been wearing this skirt in different, more laid-back ways. I love how the fitted skirt pairs with a regular tee, and especially this slouchy boyfriend tee I picked up at Aritzia. The Wilfred Free Libre t-shirt takes me anywhere. It's perfectly slouchy, charcoal grey (my favourite shade of grey), and pairs with absolutely anything. It's the easiest way to give that carefree, just put together but still super chic, vibe to an outfit.
