Snow Bunny

Forever 21, Gap, sweater, red skirt, over the knee boots, Calvin Klein

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's reading week for us students (in Canada), and given where I live, that means a lot of skiing! As I didn't get a chance to go to the mountains this year, I'm living vicariously through my friends and watching the Olympics, while dressing up to pretend I'm relaxing in a mountain lodge.

Cozy sweaters are the perfect item to bring to the mountains – you look cute and they're great to layer with. You definitely get hot and sweaty skiing or snow boarding, so you want to make sure you can take a few layers off! I paired the sweater with a bright skirt to bring a bit of colour to all the winter whites. A pair of over-the-knee boots topped the outfit. If I were actually in the mountains, I'd wear them with some thigh-high socks or tights, but as I'm in the city and it was fairly warm, I didn't feel the need.

As a side note, does anyone else have an issue buying over-the-knee boots where they aren't actually over one's knee? I have yet to find a pair (that are actually marketed as "over-the-knee") that reach over my knees! These Calvin Klein ones came close, and for less than $100 I can't really complain, but seriously, my legs are short (especially my lower legs)! Dear designers, please make over-the-knee boots that actually come over my knee rather than just hitting it!

I agree with you on the OTK issue...that's why I have to pay attention to the measurement on its descriptions:)
